Born, raised and educated in Israel, Tal graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, after acquiring a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B. F. A.) degree in the Jewellery & Fashion Design department. After completing her studies in Israel, Tal went to Italy for further studies at the institution “Cercal” – research centre and international shoe school, San Mauro Pascoli, Italy. She lived in a shoemaker’s village in the pastoral region of Emilia Romagna whilst studying shoe design. Upon graduation, she began working as an apprentice and patternmaker with Master Enzo Bonafè in the factory that bears his name in Bologna, making handmade and customized luxury shoes for men. As the secrets of the trade were revealed, Tal fell in love with the field of men’s shoes. Upon her return to Israel the idea of establishing a boutique line of shoes that focuses on the design, craft and manufacture of tailor-made shoes began to take shape. In 2012 she founded the brand Norman & Bella. Tal has extensive knowledge in cuts, model making, choice of materials and forms and prototype production. The materials used are of best quality- some manufactured in Israel and some imported from Italy in perfect completion of the required design, ensuring that the product purchased is up to date, sustainable and of uncompromising quality.
